Along with the regular academic curriculum, students at GPS participate in a wide array of co-curricular education, including:
Three days a week students in Grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 have the opportunity to improve their learning in a structured study hall environment.
Students engage in house activities throughout the year. Current activities have been: 100th day activities, building activities, recycling activities, art and drawing contests, map making and flag decorating activities, sports and games.
Houses are named after influential Indian Citizens:
Thiruvalluvar, a third century poet
Savitribai Phule, a social reformer for women’s rights and a poet
Sarogini Naidu, an Indian freedom fighter and poet
Abdul Kalam, an Indian scientist and former president of India
This daily program includes breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch and an end of day protein snack. Many students do not have access to enough nutritious food at home, and the food provided by GPS has resulted in better health among the children.
